Backing Sheets: Backing Pads are used in conjunction with anodes on steel hulls to avoid the anode corroding from the mounted face that may cause the remaining anode mass to fall off the insert support.
Backing Pads are also used to avoid Spoonification of paint caused by the alkalinity produced around the anode/cathode.
